Privacy, in plain English

AthleOS is built for student-athletes — many of them minors — and their families. We treat your data like it belongs to you, because it does. This page explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. Last updated June 2026.

What we collect

Profile you give us: name, grad year, sport/position, school, city, GPA/test scores, height/weight, film links, and your recruiting preferences.
Recruiting activity: the schools on your list, their stages, your next steps, and your notes.
Advisor chats & uploads: messages with your AI advisor and any documents you upload (e.g. a transcript) so it can help you.
Basic account data: email and sign-in info (via Supabase Auth or Google).

How AI is involved

Your AI advisor and your fit reports are powered by Google's Gemini API. When you chat or upload a file, that content is sent to Google to generate a response. We use the paid API tier, where your inputs are not used to train Google's models. Your rating is an explainable estimate built from what you tell us — it is not an official ranking, and we never fabricate facts about you or anyone else.

Who can see your data

Only you. Every athlete's data is isolated at the database level (row-level security), so one account can never see another's. We never sell your data, and nothing about you is public unless you explicitly choose to share it (e.g. a family share link, when that feature is available).

For parents & guardians

We design for minors: data minimization, no public exposure, and clear controls. We encourage a parent or guardian to be involved. If you're a parent and want a copy of, or want us to delete, your child's data, email us and we'll help.

Your controls

See and edit everything on your profile and in your Settings.
Download your data as a file from Settings → Your data.
Clear your advisor chat and manage what the advisor remembers, anytime.
Delete your account from Settings — this permanently removes your profile, list, reports, chats, and uploaded files.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active so your rating and reports stay current. Advisor chat older than 12 months may be auto-pruned. When you delete your account, your data is removed.
